Happy 1st of October & welcome to our new monthly challenge here at the Southern Ridge Trading Company's blog! Be sure to check out all of the details on this month's challenge theme which is FALL...
For my first Design Team project this month, I used a TON of Karen's awesome chipboard to make this title page for the Halloween 12x12 Scrapbook I am in the process of making. I love themed albums; they're so fun to put together & I love reminiscing over the photo's of the kids and how they've grown over the years!
The Happy Halloween Kit, CEL-413 has lots of awesome shaped pieces in it.
To decorate the title in the kit, I blocked off the ghosts using cut up strips of post-it notes.
That way, I could spray the title orange using Smooch Spray & leave the ghosts untouched to paint white using Distress Paint. I used a Q-Tip dipped in the paint to colour the ghosts.
Once it was dry from the spray, I put the pieces on black cardstock then I used the Martha Stewart spider web border/corner punch set to make the title mat. Isn't it fun?
Using other Smooch Spray colours, I spritzed the haunted house, witch & bat. I love how they look metallic-y!
I sprayed the wooden fence MIN-350 & the grass border GAR-595 as well with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists to get the colours I wanted. Then I inked the edges of everything with a black cats eye ink pad. I layered the fence over the bottom of the house, then layered the grass border over the fence! Three lovely layers of SRTC product! :)
For the spider's web, I also used the metallic silver spray & I used glossy accents on the spider to make him pop off the patterned paper... He looks too real for me! LOL! ;)
I absolutely love how this page turned out! I hope you enjoyed looking at it & seeing how I use the chipboard that Karen created for my project!
Now you show us what you've got for this months theme FALL! Be sure to enter our challenge.
Thanks for looking! Cheers! Melissa :)
