Snowed In Collection MME - Tri fold Shutter Card
Tri Fold Shutter Card
· 5 1/2" x 12" piece of double sided patterned cardstock type paper (I used My Mind’s Eye (MME) Snowed In Collection
· Martha Stewart score board & bone folder
· Paper Cutter or craft knife
· Patterned Paper scraps
· Ruler
· Double sided tape runner, pop dots etc
· Embellishments
When folded, this card will fit in a standard invitation size envelope if not too bulky from embellishments. (card measures 4" x 5.5")
Directions:
Take your cardstock type double sided paper and score with your bone folder at the 2”, 4”, 8” and 10” score marks on the scoring board.
Turn the card stock and now measure 1 1/2″ in from the long side. Use your craft knife or paper trimmer to make a slit starting at the 2″ score and end it at the 10″ score mark. Make sure to do this on BOTH long sides.
The following picture shows the mountain & valley folds. Make your folds as pictured.
Ink all edges of the card.
Next add coordinating scrapbook papers to each of the sections of the card. I like to ink my edges and trim the papers so that they leave a “border” showing.
Add embellishments, stamps, sticker’s ribbons as you like.
I hope I inspired you to try one of these cards... it's so easy to make the base and I ~LOVE~ the clean, crisp lines of it! I'm such a linear scrapbooker that this type of project really appeals to me.
Send me a picture of a card you've made using this technique, and then watch and see if it's featured on an upcoming blog post!
